The state is suffering, and so are those of us who love to travel. All the things humans do to feel happy, including seeing new sights, are off limits now. Hugging, long dinner parties, flying and wandering all have warning signs attached. If the state’s tourism industry can just hang on through this time, things will improve. Maybe not today. Maybe not tomorrow. But hopefully by next spring we will be back to our fully human, busy lives.
Right now I wouldn’t go on a cruise ship, or fly unless I had to, or go to a bar. But I would go camping. I would drive. I would stay at a hotel, if vigilant. Necessity is the mother of invention. Be creative with your summer vacation plans in this time of Covid. You will never forget any trip you take in this heightened alert state of our world.
